Type of service: Respite and short breaks

The scheme provides regular short breaks to children with significant disabilities. The care is provided by approved foster carers, known as shared carers, and may be day care or overnight care. To access the scheme families need to live in Poole and refer themselves to Children and Young People's Social Care for an assessment of the need of their child.
