Main information

Type of service: Befriending/mentoring, Family support and information services, Respite and short breaks

Renfrewshire Carers Centre provides services catering to the needs of carers. The Centre can provide information and advice on a variety of topics. This can be on holidays, complaints procedures, respite care, particular illness or disabilities, housing, welfare benefits and community care assessments. The Centre runs several carer groups including ones for Parents and Grandparents. There is also a Young Carers support group where the project offers both group work and one-to-one support for young carers aged 5 to 18 and aims to give young carers the chance to have some time-out and an opportunity to meet other young people in the same situation. A volunteer befriending service is also provided. Referrals can be made to the project by anyone, including self referral.
