Riverside School is a school for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD). Some pupils may have additional physical and / or sensory impairments. Pupils between the ages of 4 years and 19 years attend on a daily basis following the same schedule of school terms as mainstream schools. Classroom staff use different teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of each pupil, eg sensory stimulation, Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH), behaviour management, Makaton sign language, medical needs, etc.
