Robyn Steward is an adult diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. She specialises in providing training for professionals working with people on the autism spectrum. Since she began she has gone on to cover a wide range of professionals, including working for Local Authorities training social workers and support workers, and the National Health Service (NHS) training psychologists, nurses and other health care professionals. She became a mentor to others on the spectrum in 2007 and has since developed workshops and seminars for people on the spectrum. As well as consulting on services, she also regularly researchers the differing experiences of others on the spectrum, so that her training is as representative as possible of the population of people on the spectrum. She has spoken in the USA and Australia. Her training covers a wide range of topics from the very basic to specific areas such as safety and sensory issues. She believes in practical training from a person not just a textbook, so as well as the facts you get personal perspective as well as professional perspective.
