The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the Communication Support Provision. The school provides inclusive provision, where depending on need, children are class based in a mainstream setting. Additional facilities are available for individual and group support work. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils and must be police checked. The school uses the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework. All provision staff are trained to British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD)-autism minimum standard.
