Type of service: Day schools, Outreach - education, Schools

Children and young people attend Saltersgate School on a full-time basis, or on a shared placement with a mainstream school. They work in small learning groups with class teams of teachers, childcare development workers and learning assistants. Their individualised learning programmes are based on flexible and elaborated 5-14 years and Higher Still and ASDAN programmes. The school works in close partnership with parents and has an Outreach Inclusion Service which supports children with similar needs in mainstream schools. Saltersgate School is on a shared campus with St David's and Dalkeith High Schools. Volunteers to work with the pupils may be accepted.
