Shane Harvey Music Therapy
Main information
Type of service: Interventions and therapies
Music therapist registered with the Health Professional Council (HPC). Works with children, adolescents and young adults with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the South Armagh, South Down, Mid Down and Belfast areas. Music therapy is conducted either in a group or an individual basis. Referrals are firstly made to the music therapist and then an initial assessment takes place over three sessions. Specific goals are determined by the music therapist through the initial assessment and ongoing review of the client. Sessions generally last up to 30 minutes, depending on the ability of the client to engage. I have experience of working with people on the autism spectrum, most recently with children for NHS Northern Ireland.
