Autism Service Directory

Society of London Theatre (Relaxed performances)

Main information

Type of service: Play and leisure

A relaxed performance is about welcoming children with special needs (including autism spectrum conditions and/or learning disabilities) and, crucially, their families to the theatre to a performance where those needs are accounted for with a more relaxed atmosphere and some changes to the production itself if necessary eg: lowering of lights or sound at certain points of the show. The Relaxed Performance Project was produced in partnership between the Ambassador Theatre Group Ltd (ATG), Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts, UK Theatre Association and the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) . The project was kindly funded by Nancy Lurie Marks Family Foundation and was supported by The National Autistic Society and Mencap.Should you need any further advice please email enquiries@soltukt.co.uk and include the heading 'Relaxed Performances'. .
