Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Schools

St Andrew’s RC Primary School is a mainstream Catholic school which has a roll of 150 children. There is a support class for 7 children who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) who, it is hoped, will be able to access the mainstream curriculum and environment. The support class is non-denominational, and the children can come from any area of Midlothian. At present 3 of the children access mainstream classes, with adult support for some of the day. All children share the same dining hall and playground, and those with a diagnosis of ASD have Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and are taught in a mixture of individual and group work. The school may accept volunteers.
