St George's Resource Centre is located in the Pendleton area and offers day opportunities for adults with a range of complex needs (autism, learning, challenging, sensory-related to autism- dementia, older people and health). The unit emphasis is on developing opportunities for people that assist learning and progression towards employment, volunteering, advocacy, skills building, personal development and promotion of being an active citizen within their local community. St. Georges offers qualifications including NPTC (National Proficiency Test Council) and EDEXCEL. In addition to this, there is a catering project which in turn leads to a level of independence determined by the individual and supports movement towards work experience, supported employment and ultimately a paid job. Our philosophy is to communicate, stimulate, promote self esteem, independence, personal health and well being and actively promote community inclusion and presence. In order to meet the individuals needs, staff are highly trained and motivated to provide high standards of support and continue to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of people with complex needs throughout their careers as well as working in a person centred way and using specific tools. As a service we have strong links with our commissioning team, and allied health professionals as well as working in partnership with parents/carers, supported tenancies, adult placement, respite, education, private, voluntary, employment and mainstream services..
