St Helen's House
Achieve together
Main information
Type of service: Supported living schemes
St Helens House is a supported living service providing 24 hour support to adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, mental health needs, moderate learning difficulties and autism spectrum conditions.
The service sees every aspect of a person’s daily life as a potential learning opportunity, working collaboratively with an individual in areas that might include personal care, cooking, shopping, domestic tasks and in planning individual recreational and developmental activities. A person centred planning approach is used, tailored towards individual needs and focused on outcomes.
The service looks to support an individual with realistic and achievable positive outcomes in developing their independence, however small a step a person may need to take at a time.
Staff work closely with community teams to ensure that individuals continue to access key services and this close working relationship allows them to focus on increased independence, recovery and relapse prevention for those who have mental health needs.
