Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Schools

St Matthew’s is a mainstream Church of England primary school, rated GOOD by Ofsted (June 2022) and EXCELLENT by SIAMS (March 2020). The school is part of the SDBE Multi Academy Trust. St Matthew’s has an attached Special Needs Support Centre for children with ASD. The centre is deemed a High COIN unit. All the children in the centre have EHCPs. The children have personalised learning activities and integrate with their mainstream class as appropriate and helpful for each individual child. TEACCH, zones of regulation and other ASD strategies are used effectively to help the children to progress with academic learning, physical and communication development, social skills and life skills. Places for the centre are allocated by Surrey County Council in liaison with the school. The current centre is for KS2 pupils (age 7-11.) Plans are in place for a similar centre for Reception / KS1 children (age 4-7) to open in September 2023. Please contact the school for further information or to arrange a visit.
