The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the Language and Communication Resource (LCR). The resource provides full-time support for pupils whose language and communication difficulties are their primary barrier to learning. The model is based on a model of social inclusion with pupils integrating into the community of St Ninian's. Pupils are provided with additional support from Speech and Language Therpay and Support for Learning staff. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
