Stanley Park High has a department for autism, a purpose built base built in 2004. Students selected by the LEA are able to access the mainstream classes with LSA support. Students are withdrawn for social skills lessons. The school is also developing vocational courses which students are encouraged to take. Students are encouraged to take part in school events, productions and trips. A post 16 centre is above the Base. New school opened nearby in January 2012 with a mild base and a moderate base which eventually will contain 56 students the mild up to 35, 5 in each year 8 in each year in the moderate. Aqua Base for secondary pupils with mild ASD. Ignis Base for secondary pupils with moderate ASD. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. This includes some people from the sixth form, Sutton Voluntary Bureau work experience placement. The school uses the SPELL framework. Respite services are just for their own pupils. There is a change of timetable and withdrawal for planned time while in the Base. Sutton LEA place the children but advice is taken from the LEA ASD Advisory Service headed by Sue Foster. The school has an EFC curriculum in Year 7 and Year 8 and is also a Human Scale. Facilities provided are part of the mainstream facilities which students access from the Base as part of their Inclusion. The school also has links with Carshalton and Merton colleges who can provide alternative courses at Post 16. The school has a quiet room.
