Stretton Lodge is an Independent Living Service modelled as an extra care service. There are eight self contained flats designed round a courtyard arrangement. On site there is a staff office, shared lounge, kitchen conservatory and communal gardens. The tenants hold a tenancy in their own right and care and support is delivered to the tenants on a personal package of care basis. The tenants are fully included in local community life and are integrated in many areas of their lives including shopping outings, eating and drinking at the local public houses, sports and leisure activites. The tenants at Stretton Lodge have access to supported employment opportunities in a variety of ways. Some are supported to attend a local Riding for the Disabled centre as volunteers. Some tenants attend a charity garden project and participate in horticulture courses. Some tenants are employed on-site and undertake jobs like cleaning the offices and managing the flower beds and gardens. Referrals are accepted via statutory services.
