TaSK (Talented and Special Kidz)

Main information

Type of service: Local groups, Play and leisure, Social groups

TaSK is a support group for families who have children affected by an Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD. Families of children affected by an Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD often deal with similar challenges. They may have concerns about education, services, therapies, respite and other issues directly related to their child. TaSK aims to bring families together for friendship and support. The group was created by parents in East Lothian who have children affected by an Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD and who appreciate how important this type of contact and information is. They hope to help families of children affected by an Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD to realise that they are not alone. The purpose of the group is to allow parents, carers and their children to meet and chat on a regular basis in an informal way, encouraging play and activities as well as face to face support. Meetings are held at: Macmerry Village Hall, Westbank Road, Macmerry, East Lothian. Initially meetings are being held fortnightly running every other Wednesday from 5:30 -7:30 pm. You can obtain details of the next meeting on the forthcoming dates page of this site: http://task.cfsites.org/.
