The Ann Craft Trust is a national association dedicated to the protection from abuse of adults and children with learning disabilities. ACT is a national association working with staff in the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors in the interests of people with learning disabilities who may be at risk from abuse. Established in 1992, within the Department of Learning Disabilities at the University of Nottingham, under the leadership of the late Dr Ann Craft, ACT is now one of the leading organisations in this field. ACT responds to the needs and concerns of people working in the caring professions by providing: information and advice; peer group support and networks; publications including a quarterly bulletin, bibliographies and books; training, seminars, workshops and conferences; research and awareness campaigns.
