Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Residential schools, Schools

The Marchant-Holliday School has been based in North Cheriton, Somerset, for over 50 years. We are a fortnightly boarding and day school for primary age boys who are experiencing complex difficulties that cannot be managed within a mainstream setting. Our class groups are very small. Pupils are taught in mixed groups and receive a high level of individual assistance. The school is highly structured with predictable routines. This helps all of our pupils but is particularly supportive of a growing number of children who have autism spectrum conditions (ASCs) including Asperger syndrome. The school is situated in the heart of the Somerset countryside. Residential and teaching facilities are of the highest standard. Many teaching and care staff have undertaken training in 'Understanding autism in school' accredited by The National Autistic Society and Canterbury Christchurch University.
