Tilmala Healthcare - Plas Gwyn

Llanryhstud

Main information

Type of service: Residential services, Respite and short breaks

A provider of care for people within the autism spectrum disorder. The company was formed a number of years ago to address the growing need for permanent and respite residential services. Support, day care and residential services are the mainstay of the company. The company is opening further services in Wales to support individuals in small settings who have complex needs. There are many opportunities for individuals to be involved in the local community. Day trips, dancing, work based placements, holidays, physiotherapy, relaxation, swimming, barbecues, pottery, all with transport available from the homes. The company is currently discussing with the local social services department the opportunity to provide a social enterprise for individuals to take ownership of employment services with profits going back into the organisation they work for. All profits remain within that company and are separate from the business enterprise meaning the people employed reap the rewards of the company making profits. Volunteers may work with service users. Referrals can be either through social services or direct to the company.
