VSA’s Linn Moor School provides up to 25 residential educational places and has the opportunity of day pupil education placements, for young people aged from 5-18 years of age. Linn Moor Residential School offers placements for young people with moderate, severe or complex support needs and specialises in autism and related disorders. Individually packaged placements are provided within a group living and learning context for up to 52 weeks per year. Linn Moor offers an integrated broad and balanced curriculum which is delivered through varied learning and teaching approaches. Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children (TEACCH) is consistently used across Linn Moor, and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and other augmentative communication mechanisms ensure our students are empowered to express their own personal views. Personal effectiveness is celebrated in our students' many achievements which range from acquisition of personal self-care skills to the successful completion of ACCESS and ASDAN qualifications and awards. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
