Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Outreach - education, Schools

West Mains School is a school for children in primaries one to three, with speech and language difficulties. The school offers the full Curriculum for Excellence in small group situations, and is supported by an intensive program of specialist teaching, together with speech and language therapy. Children attend West Mains School for between one and three years before moving on to another suitable provision, usually their local mainstream school. West Mains School occupies a ground floor wing in the building of Halfmerke Primary School. The two schools work closely together and the children enjoy shared social and learning experiences. We also provide an outreach service to mainstream schools within South Lanarkshire.
