Westfield School is a small maintained special school for students with severe and profound and multiple learning disabilities. Entry requirements specify the need for a statement of special educational needs (SEN) stating severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities. There are currently 10 students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Students come from a wide geographical area, including the neighbouring authorities of Shropshire, Powys and Worcestershire, and from a diverse range of social and economic backgrounds. The school undertakes outreach support to mainstream schools in the area who have students with severe learning disabilities.
