We are committed to supporting students with disabilities, who have the academic ability to progress to higher education, to make informed decisions about their educational futures. We do this through a variety of outreach events which aim to: - raise awareness of additional support available in higher education for students with disabilities (academic and financial) - enable disabled students to experience a university campus provide opportunities to meet current University students, including those with disabilities - offer relevant information to teachers, family and carers of disabled students The Widening Participation Team develop tailor-made events which include parent support sessions, workshops on Student Finance, Support and Option Choices, as well as campus visits with subject tasters for both prospective students with educational groups or with parents. We also cater for a wide range of ages to help support the transition as and when suitable for each individual. We also work very closely with the university's Wellbeing team to ensure everyone has the opportunity to discuss support available to them not only in their transition to higher education (HE) but during and beyond. Our programme is open to all with the academic ability to reach university.
