Main information

Type of service: Outreach, Residential services, Respite and short breaks

Willowtree House strives to provide bespoke services to adults with learning disabilities who present with the most challenging and complex needs, such as challenging behaviour, autism, special diets, fluid monitoring and emotional support. The service is highly staffed by a commited team of trained and motivated individuals, including waking night staff. The Team work closely with a number of professionals including the Intensive Support Team, Consultants, Clinicians, Psychiatrists and Dieticians. The service's in-house Behaviour Support Manager assesses, supports and devises management and development programmes, and strategies to ensure the highest quality of care and support can be delivered by the staff team. Person Centred, bespoke services are provided to ensure: that the person can have the highest quality support for their needs; live a full and inclusive life, achieving their goals; be part of their community and all that is important to them. Service users are also supported to plan their days and take part in any activities of their choice. Service users are encouraged to take the lead in directing their own care and greatly value our relationships with families. Carer forums and quality surveys are held and the service has the Hearsay group (service User led), offers a monthly newsletter and involves service users in recruiting staff. The house is very spacious and has beautiful gardens, its own car, cable TV, Internet access and laptops. A sensory room and en-suites are currently being installed. Enquires can be made from any person seeking a service. This might be from a professional, family member or by the person themselves. Enquiries should be made to Simon Hardwicke, where upon arrangements can be made to view the service, exchange information and create an individual proposal for the person who needs the service. If the service is selected as one which may suit the person, a rigorous assessment takes place involving all who have been involved with the person. Willowtree House may be able to offer respite services if required, transitional services to supported living are also available.
