Wiltshire Autism Diagnosis Service (WADS)

Main information

Type of service: Diagnostic services

We are a diagnostic service for adults who have a Wiltshire general practitioner (GP). In addition to diagnosing autism, we are able to offer a limited amount of post diagnostic support which is mainly to help people with an autism spectrum condition (ASC) to learn about the condition and to access a range of appropriate mainstream services after referral from a Wiltshire GP. We see people across Wiltshire in five different venues and can also see them in their own homes. Referral is either by GP letter or on the choose and book system.

Assessment procedure: The Wiltshire Autism Diagnostic Service is a small multidisciplinary team providing an autism spectrum condition (ASC) assessment service to adults with a Wiltshire general practitioner (GP). We are able to offer a limited amount of post diagnostic support which is mainly to help people with an ASC to learn about the condition and to access a range of appropriate mainstream services.
