Main information

Type of service: Play and leisure

We are a small independent charity (registered number 1023456) based in Worcester, UK. We run a multi-sensory environment for people with severe learning disabilities. Our centre is a community resource visited by over 400 people every week. Why is this needed? The world of people who have profound learning disabilities is often a confusing and threatening place over which they have no control. We offer them an environment they can explore through sight, hearing, smell or touch. What is snoezelen? Coined by two psychologists, snoezelen is a contraction of the Dutch words words for sniffing and dozing. The word evokes a vague, undefinable feeling of sensory well-being and has come to be commonly used to describe any multi-sensory room. The environment enhances quality of life for people with severe learning disabilities. Our prices and opening times are published on the website.
