The names of the units for children with special needs are the Infant and Junior Speech and Language Units. Pupils with Asperger syndrome have one to one help (0.5) in mainstream classes. Pupils with autism are taught in 2 units of 8 children each (2/3 per unit). There is a high level of adult support in the units. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. These are usually College students or people who work in "Breakthrough". Another intervention, approach and programme offered by the school is sign along.
