We are a special educational needs (SEN) school with provision for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Pupils are placed by the local authority and educated within the Autistic Unit with inclusion in whole school activities as appropriate. Current provision is for 18 pupils. The school uses the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework as appropriate - strategies are tailored to individual pupil needs. Strategies as appropriate to pupils’ individual needs. Some services provided by local health authority. Pupils are placed by Local Authority (LA) via Autism panel. Pupils banded in accordance with primary need.
