Belstead Villa, a transitional service for individuals aged between 18-25 years, consists of four self-contained studio flats and is adjacent to the service at Belstead Mews for 12-18 year olds. Suitable for young people with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs, both services focus on providing a progressive service to support individuals through the transition from childhood to adulthood.                                      

Belstead Villa supports individuals to prepare for moving to adult services; teaching individuals how to live independently, developing life skills and using transport more independently.

Individuals are supported in managing their own living environment within their self-contained studio flat.

Developing daily living skills such as cooking and cleaning is a key focus to build confidence and greater independence.

The team at Belstead Villa actively encourage the people they support to access activities, hobbies and colleges in the local community as independently as possible.

Nearby Ipswich has many amenities including a cinema, shops, bowling alley, cafes, restaurants and many other leisure facilities. There are also good transport links near the home, including a train station and bus links, to help support people to get out and about.

As an organisation, Consensus has been successful in supporting those who have experienced placement breakdowns elsewhere or whose needs have been difficult to meet in a family setting.
