Henson Court
Consensus Support
Main information
Type of service: Residential services
Henson Court is a modern, welcoming residential service in Kettering in a quiet location. A large, pleasant four bedroom bungalow, the service provides person centred support for younger adults with learning disabilities, autism and additional complex needs. Focusing on supporting individual’s bespoke needs, including sensory-perceptual, communication and social needs, the team are highly skilled in empowering the people to have choices and opportunities and live their life in the way they want to.
The team are fully trained in working with individuals with autism and complex needs, using approaches such as PECS and TEACCH to ensure consistent, quality communication and support. Further expertise can be provided through our Positive Behaviour Intervention Team and our Autism Consultant to support individuals with more complex forms of autism.
Transition is carefully planned in liaison with the individual’s family and care manager as they could be moving from an educational setting or perhaps the family home.
We ensure that the individual will get on well with the people already living at Henson Court and that their personalised support plan helps to achieve their full potential.
The team provide support with personal care and everyday tasks such as cooking, washing and cleaning. An adapted form of person centred planning is also used to set longer term goals and map out a pathway towards a more independent form of living, where appropriate.
Individuals are also encouraged to enjoy a wide range of social and leisure activities of their choice.
