Type of service: Respite and short breaks

Via House is a rural retreat located in the parish of Sandwick in Orkney. We provide opportunities for small groups or families and individuals with learning disabilities to explore the arts and environment of Orkney by participating in coordinated indoor and outdoor arts and nature activities. The arts activities are studio based at Via's own studio and includes drama, storytelling and environmetnal sculpture/painting. Outdoor activities include rockpooling and coastal walks. There are activities for all tastes and abilities and everyone is encouraged to draw inspiration from local island landscapes, seascapes and wildlife. Depending on group requirements, extra free time may be arranged for carers / parents, on request.
