The Orkney Folklore and Storytelling Centre based in Sandwick, Orkney is a centre of creative Learning. We offer Creative Learning courses,workshops and holiday schools for children,young people and adults with special educational needs,disabilities and who are on the autism spectrum. we specialise in active and sensory learning exploring self assertion and self awareness within the framework of StoryCircles, DramaCircles, Creative Movement and Rhythm, Tai chi Images, Environmental Painting and Sculpture. Lynn,our arts director and course leader has an MA (arts) in English Literature, Language and Drama from Glasgow University and is qualified in classical ballet, jazz and traditional dance.She has developed and directed Communication arts programmes throughout UK and Europe for more than 25 years. We offer at the Centre bespoke staff and personal development courses in Creative Learning through StoryCircles, DramaCircles and Tai chi images. These are particularly beneficial to those working in the fields of education, social and residential care and mental health.
