Consensus Support

Main information

Type of service: Residential services

Pendle Gardens is a residential service in Barrowford, Lancashire. It has been designed to offer specialist support and self-contained accommodation to men with learning disabilities who have a range of different complex needs including autism, mental health issues and behaviours requiring specialist risk management approaches.

The service has been designed to meet the particular needs of individuals who may come under what was formerly known as the Transforming Care Agenda.  These can include people stepping down from secure settings or hospital environments, or equally those who may be living in the community but require intensive person-centred support to avoid the risk of admission.

Pendle Gardens offers individuals personalised support and accommodation in a unique flat based model. There are eight self-contained flats within the service, some with their own external entrances which aids the management of compatibility issues. Each one consists of a living room/diner, kitchen, bedroom and shower/bathroom. There are communal areas within the service that can be used for a variety of purposes depending on need. Located on the edge of a vibrant town, Pendle Gardens is set in extensive gardens overlooking stunning countryside.

The highly skilled staff team, which includes a nursing element, work in partnership with the supported individuals, the multi-disciplinary team, families, advocates and commissioners to ensure that the people we support have an opportunity to build happy and meaningful lives with good outcomes, where risks are managed and individuals can achieve a greater level of independence.
