Perrywood House is located on one of the main roads into Kettering, Northamptonshire and is a specialist residential service supporting adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). With a friendly, supportive team and a lovely bright and spacious setting, the service supports seven individuals. A substantial three story Victorian property, the service has spacious en-suite bedrooms, a bright, spacious lounge with period features and lovely front and rear garden areas.

Individuals living at Perrywood are very much involved in the running of the home, from tending to the gardens to choosing the furnishings and decor. They also plan and host numerous garden parties, barbeques and cultural evenings where family and friends are warmly welcomed.

The dedicated team encourage individuals to be active in their local community, whether it be meeting friends for coffee, paid or voluntary employment, joining local societies or attending the local disco. The focus is on providing opportunity, choice and helping people try new things. The service has its own transport and good local transport links to facilitate this.

The team support individuals to become more independent, developing daily living skills such as cleaning and cooking and having their own areas of responsibility. They also learn how to manage their finances when out and about in the local community.

To build self esteem and confidence, individuals actively seek work opportunities including placements in the local builder’s merchants and Well Café. Others volunteer at local charity shops and stables.
