Pool Cottage is a converted cottage located in a quiet, beautiful rural area, but just 15 minutes from the City of Newport and its amenities. A well-established residential service it provides specialist support and accommodation for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Supporting eight individuals, Pool Cottage has a homely, welcoming and friendly atmosphere with a long-standing, dedicated team. The focus is on person centred support to meet individual’s bespoke, and often complex needs. Some individuals have mild behaviours which others might find challenging and others have physical disabilities. They are supported to develop their own person centred plan to achieve the goals and aspirations that are important to them.

Pool Cottage offers spacious, flexible accommodation across two floors with six bedrooms on the ground floor and a further two bedrooms and lounge upstairs. There is a large garden to enjoy and grow vegetables and access to a hydrotherapy pool at our Consensus day centre nearby.

Great importance is placed on learning new skills and helping everyone to take an active interest in the running of the home where they have their own responsibilities. This helps improve daily living skills and develop greater independence.

Lots of activities take place at Pool Cottage which individuals love to plan and help organise. This includes themed nights, coffee mornings, karaoke, arts and crafts and beauty sessions as well as garden parties and Christmas and Easter events. Friends and family members are always welcome to attend. Individuals are also encouraged to be a part of their local community and enjoy cinema, bowling, local pubs and restaurants. With two on-site vehicles they can easily access their chosen opportunities and activities and lead a fulfilling life.
