Supported Living - Brightlingsea

Consensus Support

Main information

Type of service: Supported living schemes

Our supported living service in the coastal town of Brightlingsea, Essex provides two self-contained one bedroom flats each with their garden supporting adults with learning disabilities and additional complex needs.
We support individuals who have developed more independent living skills and who don’t need full residential support.

Our support is provided on a one to one basis within their self-contained flat and the focus is on supporting their independence.

Each individual will have their own person centred support package so that our support is tailored to them and how they want to live their life within their local community.

The care provided will include all aspects of a person’s life from their health and well-being to education and skills development, day activities and employment with a focus on developing and maintaining relationships.

We can provide extra help with daily living tasks like cleaning and cooking so they are fully involved and responsible for the day to day running of their home. This helps improve daily living skills and confidence and as greater independence is achieved, we update support plans with the individual to make sure we are maximising their choices and opportunities.

The team actively support individuals living at this service to become part of the local community. Nearby Brightlingsea has many amenities including shops, a library, leisure centre and cafes. There are also good transport links near to the home to support people to get out and about.

Friends and family are always welcome to visit and join in events and activities.
