Supported Living - Hastings
Consensus Support
Main information
Type of service: Supported living schemes
Our transitional service in Hastings, East Sussex, provides a modern, stylish supported living accommodation for young adults who have learning disabilities, autism and additional complex and challenging needs.
The service has been developed as a result of need and demand for this type of setting in the local area. It is beneficial for individuals who are coming through transition from a children’s service or for those who have just finished college where a supported living service would be preferred. Individuals may also be moving out of home, or someone could be living in a residential service ready for the next level of independence.
This service, which is located within a quiet area with views down to the sea, is a high spec building with a large, modern, comprehensive layout offering lots of space, light and modern finishes and furnishings. It consists of 4 large en-suite bedrooms within the main house and 2 self-contained flats set across 2 floors. Each flat incorporates a large bedroom, separate bathroom, kitchen and lounge area. There are also several communal spaces within the main house for people to socialise in if they want, including a large lounge, social dining area, kitchen and garden. Each of the individuals living at this service will have their own tenancy agreement with a specialist housing provider.
With a caring, supportive environment, and local amenities and public transport links close by, the focus is on supporting individuals to live as active and meaningful life as possible within the local community. Each person will have an individualised support package based on their unique needs and the level of support they require. A strong, dedicated team is available 24/7 to help the people who live here to identify how they can best be supported to develop their skills towards greater independence and achieve the goals and aspirations that are important to them.
