Ty Machen, a pleasant bungalow surrounded by beautiful grounds is situated in the small village of Machen, a short distance from the city of Newport. This residential service provides support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour and complex health needs.                        

The friendly, positive and experienced team ensure the main focus is to promote the supported individual’s well-being, while providing a positive home from home environment.

There are six en-suite bedrooms, an open plan kitchen/diner, comfortable lounge, sensory/relaxation room, quiet room and a lovely sun terrace which surrounds the bungalow. The secure gardens surrounding the home are where events are held, including garden parties and social gatherings for the families of the supported individuals. The front of the property also has secure gated access to the service.

Individuals are encouraged to be a part of their local community and to utilise the local amenities, either on their own, with support, or in groups. e.g. swimming, bowling, cinema visits, eating out and trying new activities. The focus is very much on supporting people to achieve their goals and aspirations and to have positive outcomes. To increase confidence and to get involved in daily living skills, individuals at Ty Machen are actively involved in cooking and general household duties. There are also opportunities to learn new skills by attending colleges, day services or by pursuing local work opportunities.

Careful attention is given during the sensitive transition process to ensure individuals feel settled and happy in their new environment.
