Bents Green School is a co-educational secondary school within a residential facility. Registered with the Department for Education (DfE) as a school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD), it also provides for pupils with speech and language and other communication disorders, such as autism. The school is situated on the south west edge of Sheffield. The aim of the school is to raise standards in literacy, numeracy, communication and life skills, set in a context of spiritual, emotional and social development. Volunteers to work with the pupils may be accepted after Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) screening. Residential services are offered on a daily basis, with a maximum of 2 days per week. Respite services, holiday and residential are offered to the school's own pupils and to other children.
