King Ecgbert School is a mainstream school which has a 34 place resource for pupils with autism. The Resource is a registered charity. Pre 16 education is provided by the local authority. Post 16 education is provided through charity and by Sheffield College. Pupils have a high level of integration into mainstream lessons (over 80% of the week). The charity employs 3 members of staff to be the 'Employment Support Workers' and the school has an Integration into Work Scheme for pupils in Years 9 to 12. There are 11 members of staff in the resource. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. The school also offers a supported employment service. The name of the unit within the school is called The Integrated Resource. The Supported Employment Project part of their work is charity based and not part of the school.
