Type of service: Respite and short breaks

Supports families who have a child with a learning and/or physical disability (0-18 years). The scheme can provide a range of short break care situations with carefully chosen carers. Carers are 18 and over. They may be single or have families of their own. They may be heterosexual, gay or lesbian. They include people from all races, cultures and religions. This service is free for disabled children. You may need to provide some money to cover the cost of activities and a little spending money. For day care, befriending or a sitting service, please contact the scheme direct on (0114) 273 4601. For overnight care for your child, please visit First Point at Howden House, Union Street, Sheffield, S1 2SH and ask to speak to an adviser, or ring First Point on (0114) 273 4855.
